The Bajaj Auto stable has launched one of the most advanced super sport bike in its category – the Kawasaki Ninja 250R in the auto market. This Kawasaki Ninja 250R bike is made by the Japanese company Kawasaki Heavy Industries and will be imported into India as completely knocked-down units from Thailand.
After assembly at the Baja Auto's Chakan plant, they will be retailed exclusively through its 25 pro-biking showrooms spread across 22 cities in India. Kawasaki Ninja 250R bikes will be made available in the next three weeks. While the pro-biking showrooms would provide the related service in India, spares would be imported from Thailand and Japan.
According to Mr. Eric Vas, President, New Projects, the company would unveil the 2010 edition first and it had already assembled 60 of these by this time. He further said that the company expected to sell around 1,000 units of the Kawasaki Ninja 250R within a year. He further mentioned that more Kawasaki products would be introduced as time passed by.
The Bajaj Kawasaki Ninja 250R is available in racing green and black and is a four stroke liquid cooled motorcycle. It is currently priced at INR 2,69,970 (ex-showroom price) in Delhi, while it is pegged at Rs. 2,69,580 in Chennai. The vehicle is powered by a 249 cc four stroke engine that produces a maximum power of 33 PS. With its liquid cooled parallel twin DOHC engine, it delivers a maximum fuel consumption of 42.5 kilometres per litre.
Kawasaki Ninja 250R bike is an addition to the regular line-up of Bajaj Avenger DTS-i and the flagship motorcycle Pulsar 220 DTS-i. Currently, the price of the Kawasaki Ninja 250R is around 2.69 lakhs. At present, the company expects to sell nearly 1,000 units of the super bike by the end of this year.
